Description
We’re looking for an exceptional developer in PHP, JavaScript, MySQL and AJAX to join the elite team responsible for such critically acclaimed websites for clients like Red Bull, M&Ms, Starbursts, Nuffield Health, Pernod Ricard, Visa and Capcom.
Your creative and developer skills will be challenged as never before, in a stimulating multi-disciplinary environment. You will quickly become a key member of our engineering team, enhancing our existing portfolio and working on exciting new sites. Your responsibilities will range across the entire spectrum of development from concept through to submission and ongoing maintenance. As well as working on individual websites, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our Head of development and CTO to enhance and develop our technology platform and tools.
Duties
The main duties for this role will be as follows:
- Developing and supporting websites and web applications
- Attending Daily Standups and SCRUM meetings
- Ensuring coding standards are adhered to
- The use of effective and pragmatic code commenting to ensure components, classes and processes are self-documenting at the code level
- Working within our source control environments
- Drafting technical specifications
- Keeping the technical document repository up to date
- Ensuring the websites and web applications are:
– Creatively and digitally excellent.
– Error Free
– Delivered on Time
- Work with the design team to ensure a great user experience for the application
- Working with the Project Managers and Clients to understand their challenges / goals and working with the Flipside team to deliver a successful solution to meet these goals

- Your code will be robust, secure and reliable
- Project delivery on-time
Skills
You will be experienced in Object Oriented PHP5. You will have a deep knowledge of open source CMS systems like WordPress or Silverstripe. You will be proficient in xHTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, XML, REST and have a familiarity with PHP development on the LAMP stack. You will have working knowledge of version control systems like SVN and GIT and have a good understanding of SQL including optimising existing queries.
